Breeding
Labradors
Nala
Red Labrador | Hip Score TBC | Eyes Clear
Nala has a great task ahead of her. She is the daughter and successor to her mother Flirt who has produced a large part of the Mordor Labrador line. Like her mother, Nalla’s big eyes lure you in. She is shaping up to be a good dog and we hope she will have a litter in the future.
Chutney
Black Labrador | Hip Score 3:6 | Eyes Clear
Chutney has had some wonderful puppies. We are so pleased with how they turned out, we are hoping to breed again in Spring 2011 using the same father as before. As daughter of Flirt, Chutney shows many of the same characteristics as Flirt but is quieter and easier to handle. She is very pretty and very loyal - one of those who is more then a pleasure to have around.
Venus
Black Labrador | Hip Score TBC | Eyes Clear
Venus was a pup taken from a bitch bred by Edward Martin (Sealpin Gundogs) who we mated to Zeus. She is a very honest lovely bitch, similar looking to Chutney but with a little more zoom about her. She will become one of our long standing dogs - we feel as she has something wonderfully appealing about her. Like her half brother Thor, she would put most dogs to shame from looks and works hard and enthusiastically. Venus is a fourth generation of Mordor lines and I feel we are going in the right direction.
Soda
Black Labrador | Hip Score 5:6 | Eyes Clear
Soda is the sweetest dog we have had. She simply does not know any wrong. She is a small but very well proportioned dog. She is keen but need reassurance. The steadiest dog on the planet!
Springer Spaniels
Tulla
Liver & White English Springer Spaniel
Tulla might be the last pup we will retain off Moss. She is Mordor Gundogs' little angel. She simply does not know how to be bad. Very stylish and honest. She is a half sister to Solo with many of the same genes and traits.
Lass
Black & White English Springer
Lass is a bitch that we bought in at about a year old. Having seen her progessing well, we decided she would make a great addition to our dogs. She is a wonderful dog to shoot over when trying to train other dogs or deal with clients. Her forte is rabbits. Lass is very steady and relaxed but with enough enthusiasm to make for an enjoyable day out. We may breed from her in 2010 or early 2011.
Cocker Spaniels
Gypsy
Golden Cocker Spaniel
Gypsy (or Gypo as we tend to call her!) is the daughter of Flinty and Whizz. She is a bonnie little girl and is a lovely mix of her parents looks and traits. She can be a monkey (like her mother was at this age) but shows more of her father’s honesty. She is definitely a get-up-and-go dog being ready for action and eager to please. Gypsy had her first litter in the spring of 2010 to Reiver. She came up trumps and produced a dark golden bitch to replace her mother Whizz in our team. We will have to work hard to ensure the pup comes up to expectations. Whizz will be a hard one to follow.
Dafa
Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel
Dafa was kept from Blues’ last litter as a replacment to her retiring mother. She soon became the star of the 2009 shows - many attempts to buy and steal her were made. Having resisted them all, she is fast becoming a cracking little girl. Dafa is a very adorable dog - small and pretty, she is an expert in winning hearts. From a very early age she carried building blocks bigger then her own weight, so she is a magical retriever.
Recently Retired
Tara
Black Labrador | Hips 3:7 | Eyes clear |
She is the ugly duckling who turned into the swan! Came to us at about a year old. but didn’t really have the characteristics of a classic Mordor Labrador but has grown to become one and produced some great pups. Some we still have here. Tara is now retired to a one-to-one pet home south of Edinburgh.
Flirt
Yellow Labrador | Hips score 3:3 | Eyes clear
She seemed to grow into her name! Bought at around the same time as Rhum, she has been a great success. A good game finder, loyal, loving temperament. Pretty, and has produced some good pups - Mango, Zeus and Chutney. Flirt is now retired to the sofa in the kitchen at Mordor.
Blue
Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel
Both our breeding Cockers are aptly named! Not very original though. Another well put together dog - has had some lovely blue roan and black pups. Blue is a quiet Cocker who takes life at her own pace. She is now retired and living with Charlie's mother.
Wizz
Golden Cocker Spaniel
Very eye-catching dog. Dark golden. Very neat but very effective. Occassionally mistaken for a fox by an over-enthusiastic gun on a walked-up-day, so we make sure they all meet her first! The problem then is they all want to take her home. Wizz is now retired to a good friend of Charlie's in America but still working.
Inky
Black Labrador | Eyes clear
Not one of Mordor Gundogs but was the first dog Mordor Gundogs trained for someone else and has subsequently been a major part of the back bone of the Mordor Labrador line. Inky will be having one more
litter early in 2008. She was bred and is owned by Clare Learmonth. Inky has recently sadly passed away.
Testimonials
"Just to say that everything is going fantastically well. We are delighted with Bovril. Thanks for all you extra advice with regards to settling her into the house etc. She is getting 3 to 5 days shooting a week and is behaving impeccably. Really, I would like to raise a complaint but well I can’t. We are absolutely delighted with her. If you are ever near us do come and see her and us."

"Little Kora is very happy. She likes the food and has found a new girlfriend named Agatha. She is very sweet, active, and very well adapted to her new circumstances. We look forward to shooting with her."
